During the recent flooding in Pike County, the Rescue Squad pulled 36 people from the raging waters, some in their homes, some in their cars and some swept away. Surely, many of those could very well have perished had it not been for their actions.
Those who were rescued, and those who love them, certainly owe the Rescue Squad a debt of gratitude. And the chest of every Floyd Countian should swell with pride and admiration over the feats of these brave volunteers.
But we can also think of a more tangible way to offer thanks. Next week marks the 44th annual radio auction to support the Floyd County Rescue Squad. What better time is there than now for every Floyd Countian to give support to an organization that has proved its worth time and time again?
