KSR begins live broadcast tour in Prestonsburg
by Jack Latta
PRESTONSBURG - Floyd county got a visit this week from Kentucky Sports Radio as the duo of Matt Jones and Ryan Lemond broadcast live from Stonecrest Golf Course Monday morning.
Jones and Lemond kicked off the groups five week tour of live broadcasts from the beautiful backdrop of Stonecrest Golf Course during its two hour broadcast Monday.
Jones said that during the tour, the group will be giving away basketball tickets. During each stop there will be an opportunity for callers or those in attendance to win two basketball tickets for the upcoming University of Kentucky basketball season.
“Someone is going to win tickets to see UK and Louisville,” said Jones during the broadcast. Jones laughed and added that, “Of course, somebody is also going to win tickets to see the Mantevollo exhibition game.”
Prestosnburg native Steve Newsome won the first set of tickets. Newsome won the tickets during the Monday show to attend the December game against Belmont.
During the broadcast, Jones and Lemond were presented with the key to the city by Prestonsburg Mayor Jerry Fannin, whom Jones called the most fit mayor he’s ever seen. “If there is ever a mayor battle royal, I’m taking the Mayor of Prestonsburg.”
