Pike woman killed in motorcycle accident

COAL RUN — A McAndrews woman was killed last weekend in Pike County after the motorcycle of which she was a passenger was struck by a pickup truck.
According to Kentucky State Police officials, Troopers as Post 9 in Pikeville received a call on Sunday, May 26, of a three-vehicle accident in the Coal Run community.
During the investigation, Troopers obtained information from the scene indicating that Eugene Taylor was traveling north on U.S. 23 when the 2011 Toyota pickup truck he was driving struck the rear of a motorcycle operated by Darrel Coleman.
Rebecca Coleman, 43, of McAndrews, a passenger on the motorcycle was ejected during the collision. Taylor’s truck then struck another vehicle operated by Priscilla Bryant as she attempted to pull onto the roadway.
Rebecca Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Zeb Hampton. The accident remains under investigation by KSP Accident Re-constructionist Tpr. Bran Layne. KSP was assisted at the scene of the accident by Coal Run Fire Department and Transtar Ambulance Service.
