Pike man killed in wreck

PIKEVILLE — A Pike county man was killed last weekend following a late night motor vehicle accident at Big Creek.
Kentucky State Police officials said on Monday that they received a call of a single-vehicle accident at 11:54 p.m., Sunday evening. Upon arriving at the scene, Troopers Jason McClellan and Michael Hindman discovered a vehicle belonging to Henry May overturned off the side of the road.
An investigation of the accident revealed that May, 44, of Sidney, was traveling south on Big Creek Road when his vehicle dropped off the right shoulder on the roadway and overturned. May was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike county Coroner Russell Roberts.
Two passengers in the vehicle were transported to Pikeville Medical Center with minor injuries. The names of the passengers have not been released by KSP officials. KSP was assisted at the scene by Appalachian First Response.
The accident remains under investigation by officers with KSP Post 9 in Pikeville.
