EKU football team holds practice in Hazard

RICHMOND – This past Saturday, the Eastern Kentucky University football team loaded up the buses and headed to Hazard to host a kids’ clinic before scrimmaging in the afternoon. Almost 50 kids attended the kids’ clinic in Hazard, which was conducted by the EKU coaching staff and select players who did not dress for the scrimmage. Click here for photo gallery from the clinic.
Lots of fresh faces made splash plays during the Hazard scrimmage. Redshirt freshman Jared Sanders notched a 60-yard run for a touchdown. Also on offense, sophomore wide out Jeff Glover hauled in numerous big catches in key situations. Defensively, redshirt freshman linebacker LaJuan Smith intercepted a pass and returned it for a score.
This is the final week of spring practice for the Colonels. EKU will practice at Roy Kidd Stadium on Thursday from 2:45 p.m. to approximately 5:15 p.m. On Saturday, the Colonels will hold the annual Spring Game beginning at 4 p.m. Admission is free for all fans.
- The Worn Cleat Club is set to hold its fourth annual reverse raffle with the last ticket drawn picking up a $10,000 prize.
