Canadian bowler picks Pikeville

PIKEVILLE – One of the top youth bowlers in Canada has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Pikeville.
Christine Johnston is a native of Hamilton, Ontario, and will enroll at UPike in the fall.
Johnston had the highest average in her district in 2013, averaging 186. She has three-game series high of 735 and a four-game high of 1026.
A Pepsi tournament champion, Johnston bowled her first career 300 game on November 25, 2012.
The University of Pikeville women’s bowling program has won two USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships and will compete for another April 18-20 in Lincoln, Neb.
In addition, the Bears won the 2012 NAIA Invitational championship.
