Famer Halbert Jr., 54, of McDowell, husband of Lorene Hamilton Halbert, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Born May 9, 1958, in Floyd County, to the late Famer “Fub” and Kizzie Justice Halbert, he was a disabled coal miner.
He is survived by a son, Famer Lee (Amanda) Halbert, of Texas; three daughters, Tiffany Marcum, of McDowell, Misty (Jason) Jarvis, of Prestonsburg, and Stacy (Derek) Akers, of Allen; four brothers, Luke Halbert and Penny Halbert, both of McDowell, Keith Halbert, of Wayland, and Denny Halbert, of Tennessee; two sisters, Kathryn Frasure and Chaddie Martin, both of Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Beggie Halbert.
Funeral services for Famer Halbert Jr. will be held at noon, Saturday, March 16, at First Baptist Church, at McDowell, with Slade Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in the John Penny Sizemore Cemetery, at McDowell.
Visitation will take place all day Friday, at the church.
