John B. Johnson, 64, of Prestonsburg, husband of Brenda Mullins Johnson, died March 12, 2013, at his residence.
Born March 9, 1949, in Floyd County, to the late Robie and Eukie Slone Johnson, he was a disabled truck driver and member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church, in Salyersville.
He is survived by a son, John (Joann) Johnson, of Prestonsburg; two daughters, Christina (Jeff) Potter, of McDowell, and Clara (Frank) Hackworth, of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Robie (Donna) Johnson Jr. and Fred Johnson, both of Prestonsburg; five sisters, Jewell Marsillett, of Prestonsburg, Bobbie (Wetzel) Chaffins, of Garrett, Linda Carroll (Claude) Watkins, of Salyersville, Evie Kaye Johnson, of Prestonsburg, and Edith Allen, of Mt. Calm, W.Va.; and six grandchildren, Jonathan, Caleb, Laken, Jacob, Dakota and Ethan.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Donald Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Jobie Johnson, Patricia Jones, Christine Watkins, Eliza Taylor, Ethel Stapleton, Marie Hale and Mentha Johnson.
Funeral services for John B. Johnson will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 15, at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, in Salyersville, with J.R. Connelly, Greg Minix and Terry Isaac officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery, at Rough-and-Tough, Prestonsburg.
Visitation will be held all day Thursday, at the church.
