LOUISVILLE - Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson and Pikeville all learned whom they would be playing during the first round of the 76th annual Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship.
The 32-team national tournament begins on Wednesday, March 13 and concludes with the national championship game on Tuesday, March 19 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
Pikeville is the lone Mid-South team to play on the tournament’s opening day.
The No. 8-seeded Bears (26-6) meet LSU Shreveport (24-6) at 8:45 p.m. CT on Wednesday in the next to last game of the day.
Sixteen teams are seeded in the tournament and meet 16 unseeded teams in the opening round.
No. 13-seed Georgetown (23-8) begins Thursday’s play with a 9 a.m. CT date with St. Thomas (Texas) (28-5).
Second-seeded Lindsey Wilson plays the 15th game of the 16 opening round games. The MSC regular season and tournament champions meet Rocky Mountain (Mont.) (21-12) at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday.
The field is comprised of 17 automatic berths and 15 at-large selections, which were determined using the final regular-season Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released earlier today.

The semifinals will be broadcasted live on ESPN3 at 6 p.m. CST and 8 p.m. on March 18 and the championship final will be televised live on CBS Sports Network at 7:30 p.m. on March 19.
