Mildred Jeanette Calhoun, 89, of Prestonsburg, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 11, 1923, to the late Johnny Pennington and Clemma Porter Pennington Ousley. Mildred was the widow of John Graham Calhoun. She was a homemaker and attended Highland Avenue Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of Wright’s Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Delmas Pennington, and a grandchild.
She is survived by three daughters, Colleen Cornette and Johnnie Calhoun, both of Prestonsburg, and Delores Hicks, of Ashland; three sisters, Ann Nelson, of Dayton, Ohio, Marcella Coleman, of Prestonsburg, and Ezell Copley, of East Point; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 7, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Dave Garrett officiating. Burial followed the service in the Calhoun Cemetery, in Prestonsburg.
Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
