Booth named KIAC Player of the Week

PIPPA PASSES - Alice Lloyd College sophomore Carla Booth was named the KIAC women’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, Feb. 18.

Booth, a Sheldon Clark High School graduate, averaged 24.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.5 steals while leading the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week. She connected on 58.3 percent (21-of-36) of her field goal attempts and 50 percent (4-of-8) from behind the 3-point line. The sophomore guard recorded 18 points, five rebounds and four steals in a 76-70 win against Ohio Christian University. She finished the week with 31 points, six rebounds and three assists in an 88-75 win over Midway College. Booth is ranked 21st in NAIA Division II in assists per game (4.269) and 22nd in points per game (17.154).

Alice Lloyd College is currently 17-10 overall and 10-5 in conference play. ALC was playing in the opening round of the KIAC Tournament on Thursday. Results from the tournament matchup were unavailable at press time.
