Stoney Dye, 42, of McDowell, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.

He was born Oct. 5, 1970, in Wooster, Ohio, to Cleveland and Mabel (Doris) Wicker Dye. He was the husband of Christie Ousley Dye and a disabled coal miner.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mikka Desirae Dye, and two brothers, Denny Dye and Denzil Dye.

He is survived by a son, Stoney Dylan Dye; three daughters, Lindsey Alexandra Dye, Maleigha Kelsey Dye and Keeley Madison Dye; and three sisters, Sheila Marie (Marty) Little, Pamela Lynn (Eric) Thomas and Brandy (Brian) Little.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Pilgrim’s Rest Old Regular Baptist Church, at Price. Burial followed the service at Greenbury Hall Cemetery, at McDowell.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
