STEARNS - Eleven different McCreary Central players dented the scoring column on Thursday evening as the Raiders defeated the visiting Allen Central Rebels 75-48 in the second round of the Arby’s/KFC Holiday Classic.


Senior center Tyler Strunk paced McCreary Central with a game-high 19 points.


McCreary Central claimed its second straight win, improving to 3-5.


Allen Central suffered its fifth straight loss, falling to 2-8. Allen Central notched back-to-back wins over South Floyd and Piarist School prior to stumbling on its current five-game skid.


McCreary Central carried a lead out of each quarter. The Raiders outscored Allen Central 24-16 in the first quarter but did most of their damage in the second period. McCreary Central went on a 27-5 run in the second quarter to lead 51-21 at intermission.


Senior guard Josh Gregory accompanied Strunk in double figures, chipping in 13 points for McCreary Central. Senior guard Cody Ross narrowly missed double figures, netting nine points for the Raiders.


Sophomore guard Devan Horn paced Allen Central with 18 points. Senior forward Josh Wiley joined Horn in double figures, finishing with 10 points.


Mason Nelson had seven points, Tyler Keens six, Cameron Hamilton three and Aaron Hoover two for the Rebels in the setback.
