McDOWELL - The McDowell Elementary School girls’ basketball team and cheerleading and dance squads celebrated the Lady Devils’ Floyd County K-5 championship-clinching win last week.
McDowell edged previously-undefeated Prestonsburg in the championship game.
The McDowell girls’ basketball team finished the 2012 season 15-2. Both of McDowell’s losses came to Prestonsburg during the regular-season. Head coach Alan Joe Moore and assistant coach Scott Shannon guided McDowell to the county title.
McDowell’s B-Team went undefeated during the 2012 season.
