Bobcats too much for South Floyd

BETSY LAYNE - Betsy Layne notched its third straight win on Friday night, defeating visiting South Floyd 57-34 at The Dome.
The Bobcats set the tone early, outscoring South Floyd 14-3 in the opening quarter. After South Floyd matched the Bobcats point for point in the second period, Betsy Layne settled for a 26-15 lead at intermission.
Betsy Layne used a six-point scoring advantage over the Raiders in each of the last two quarters to claim the win.
Dylan Hamilton and Lako Daniels accompanied Case in double figures, finishing with 10 points apiece. Hamilton registered the game’s only double-double, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with his 10 points.
Betsy Layne won despite shooting only 36.8 percent (21-of-57) from the field. The Bobcats were 0-of-10 from 3-point range.
Betsy Lane made 15-of-26 free throw attempts in the winning effort.
Dylan Meade and Andrew Tackett chipped in six points apiece for the Bobcats. Garran Newsome and Blake Rose added four points each and Dustin Rogers scored on a field goal for the Betsy Layne boys’ basketball team.
Dalton Meade connected on a free throw for the Bobcats.
As a team, Betsy Layne had 40 rebounds, 14 steals and two blocks.
Betsy Layne produced 16 assists opposed to committing only 10 turnovers.
Tyler Daniels, Austin Salisbury and Michael Martin led South Floyd with eight points each. Other scorers for South Floyd were Austin Bailey (five points), Jacob Crager (two points), Hunter Johnson (two points), Baylon Branham (one point) and Weston Little (one point).
