Ruth Daniels Tackett, age 83, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Floyd County, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, at her residence.

She was born April 21, 1929, in Offutt, a daughter of the late Newton and Margie Johnson Daniels. She was a retired factory worker from Premier Rubber Manufacturing Company and a member of the Clear Creek United Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by a son, Randy Dale (Beverly) Tackett, of Franklin, Ohio; a daughter, Sharon (William) Murry, of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Jason Tackett, Jessica Brinegar, Corry Sorrell and Casey Perry; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Delmon Tackett. They were married Dec. 22, 1949. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, James, Arnold, Gus and Junior Daniels, and three sisters, Anna Lee Clouse, Jeanett Baker and Aileen Combs.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Sunday, Dec. 16, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with ministers of the Clear Creek United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Lucy Hall Cemetery, at McDowell.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday, with services each night at 6:30 p.m.
