PIPPA PASSES - The Alice Lloyd College men’s basketball team claimed an all-important Kentucky Intercollegiate Conference (KIAC) win on Saturday, edging visiting Brescia University 62-60.
Alice Lloyd fared its best offensively in the first half, shooting 61 percent from the field.
Brescia also fared well early, shooting 45 percent from the field as the first half ended in a 35-35 tie.
Brescia had an opportunity to tie the game or move ahead with 2.7 seconds remaining but couldn’t get a shot to fall.
Thanks to the win, Alice Lloyd evened its record to 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the KIAC.
Tyler Rogers and Cody Stumbo led Alice Lloyd with 12 points apiece. Isaac Wilson added 11 points for the Eagles.
Alice Lloyd shot 53.5 percent from the field en route to the win.
Brescia shot 41 percent from the field in its short effort.
Alice Lloyd is off until next semester. In its next game on Jan. 4, Alice Lloyd will entertain new KIAC rival Point Park.
