PIPPA PASSES - The Alice Lloyd Eagles used a solid defensive effort to limit Kentucky Christian University to just 33 field goal shooting and defeat the Knights 81-58 Tuesday night (Nov. 8).

In the opening quarter, KCU jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead as the host team stalled early. Alice Lloyd, however, tightened up on the defensive end and limited the Knights to just 23 percent shooting from the field. By the time the buzzer rang to signal intermission, Alice Lloyd had closed the rest of the half on a 33-11 run to pull ahead 34-17.

In the second half, both teams increased their offensive output. KCU shot much better from the floor, but Alice Lloyd never allowed them to mount any sort of comeback. The host team managed to outscore the visiting squad 47-41 as it earned the big victory.

With the win, Alice Lloyd improved to 2-1.

ALC junior guard Issac Wilson led all scorers with 23 points. Wilson also added a team-high four assists and registered two steals. Junior guard Stuart Stamper also reached double figures, tossing in 10 points for the Eagles.

Freshman forward Tyler Rogers added nine points, nine rebounds, and nine blocks for the winning team.

Senior center Terry Muse contributed seven points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for the Eagles.

As a team, Alice Lloyd registered 15 total blocks.

Kentucky Christian University’s David Darden led all scorers with 20 points.
