Donald Ray “Donnie” Patton, age 63, of Claypool Hill, Va., passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012.

Born Nov. 19, 1948, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Van Patton Sr. and Rebecca (Beck) Patton. He was a retired coal miner. Donnie was an avid UK fan.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Patton; a son, Jeff Patton and wife, Chase Meade Patton, of Pounding Mill, Va.; a daughter, Brandi Young and husband, Michael, of Mooresville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Jacob Young and Kylie Young; special niece, Crystal Lynn Coburn; special nephew, Kenneth Leonard Coburn; two brothers, Larry Patton and wife, Unia, and Ronnie Patton and wife, Jennifer, both of Wayland; two sisters, Linda Taylor and husband, Elbert, of Wayland, and Sharon Sexton and husband, Jody, of Winchester; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va., with Rev. Richard Smith and Mr. Larry Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Sparks Cemetery at Paynesville, W.Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Singleton Funeral Service, at Cedar Bluff, Va.
