EASTERN - Allen Central High School senior setter/right side Courtney Hodge has claimed her second MaxPreps/AVCA Kentucky High School Volleyball Player of the Week honor for the week of Oct. 22-28.
Hodge, who helped lead Allen Central to its second straight 15th Region title, paced the Rebels in five games. The senior registered 44 assists (8.8 apg), 11 digs, three kills and two blocks for Allen Central (33-6).
“This is a well-deserved award to cap off her career at ACHS,” Allen Central Coach Larry Maynard commented. “After being named the 15th Region Tournament’s MVP and then being named the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches’ Association’s 15th Region Player of the Year, receiving this recognition is nothing short of outstanding! She is a superb volleyball player, always ‘team’ oriented, and one of our school’s top student0athletes. I cannot say enough about her nor give her enough accolades about what she means to the Allen Central volleyball program and this high school.”
The MaxPreps/AVCA High School Player of the Week Program is a partnership between the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and CBS MaxPreps, Inc. Each week, MaxPreps and the AVCA recognize deserving student-athletes at the high school level who have demonstrated outstanding play on the court throughout the week of competition.
