Elbert Eugene Poe, 67, of Houston, TX, died Tuesday October 16, 2012 at Cypress Fairbanks Hospital in Houston, TX. He was born August 9, 1945 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late Amos and Annie McGuire Poe. He was a retired construction worker, a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the American Legion, Vetrans of Foreign Affairs, and a member of the Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by one brother: Malcolm Isaac Poe and one sister: Ethel Kendrick.

He is survived by his brothers & sisters: John Poe of Blue River, KY, David Poe of Pikeville, KY, Amos Poe Jr. of Goshen, IN, Ronnie Poe of Leesburg, IN, Billy Poe of Sidney, IN, Lucy Poe Davis and Faye Crace both of Prestonsburg, KY & Mable Rickel of Warsaw, IN.

Funeral services will be held Friday October 26, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, KY.

Burial will follow the service at Amos Poe Cemetery, in Prestonsburg, KY.
