HRMC service was wonderful

I took my son, William Winston Ford III, to Highlands Regional Medical Center on Sunday, Aug. 12, and again on Sept. 9, entering through the emergency room. We had the very best care and service there in the emergency room.

Then, following numerous tests, he was admitted to the hospital. I cannot tell you just how great everyone was to us. In every area of care — doctors, nurses, aides, those from the lab for blood, persons delivering food, housekeeping and even the pastoral service — we could not have asked for more.

We filled out the survey about our stay, but I feel I must give a little history of Winn, which is what we call him. Winn is a 45-year-old special needs young man, diagnosed with autism when he was about 3 years old, before much was known about autism. As his mother, when something goes wrong, it really tears me up, as I feel it is my responsibility to protect him. I never leave him alone at the hospital. A family member is always with him, which is why I personally know just how great the staff at HRMC is. I would be hard-spent to believe you could find another hospital, staff or doctors in any other hospital, as great and respectful to a patient as they are.

Well i can certainly beg to differ on that one..i went into the emergency room in Aug at 2am with back trouble..we were told it would be a short wait because they were particularly busy that nite. Well at 6am me and another woman were still sitting in the waiting room..and thats what we were doing WAITING...i finally left and went somewhere else..I think they are not a very good place and they need to do something to better their service in the ER..
