Little leads Raiders to rout of Allen Central

HI HAT - Senior running back Weston Little, one of the state’s top high school ballcarrriers, rushed 15 times for a game-high 293 yards and five touchdowns to lead South Floyd over Allen Central 59-26 in a Class A, District 8 matchup Friday night at Raider Field.

With the win, South Floyd improved to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in Class A, District 8.

South Floyd halted a four-game losing skid, returning to the win column for the first time since Sept. 7

Following the loss, Allen Central slipped to 1-7 overall and 1-1 in the district.

Senior fullback Zack Murphy led Allen Central. Murphy rushed a game-high 28 times for 120 yards and one touchdown.

The Rebels dropped back into the loss column following a hard-fought 22-20 win over district foe Phelps one week earlier.

South Floyd will have an opportunity to claim second-place in Class A, District 8 with a win over host Phelps this week.

Allen Central will host District 8 frontrunner Pikeville in another game.

Other area games set for Friday, Oct. 19 include Pike County Central at Belfry; Shelby Valley at Betsy Layne; Knott County Central at Breathitt County; Russell at East Carter; Lawrence County at East Ridge; Jenkins at Harlan; Ashland at Johnson Central; Prestonsburg at Lawrence County; Whitley County at Letcher County Central; Morgan County at Magoffin County; Harlan County at Perry County Central; Paintsville at Raceland and Lewis County at West Carter.
