Paul V. Gunnell, age 63, of Garrett, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Knott County, to Isaac Gunnell and Martha Chaffins Gunnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George (Martha) Gunnell; and sister, Rebecca Creighton.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandy Pigman Gunnell; daughter, Jamie L. Gunnell; daughter of the heart, Rachel Holbrook; brothers, Joe (Joyce) Gunnell, Foley (Janice) Gunnell and Stevie (Theda) Gunnell; sister, Brenda Gunnell; host of nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Wanda Pigman Layne; and several brothers-in-law.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 5, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, with Earl Slone officiating. Burial will follow at the Pigman-Slone Cemetery, at Dema.
