PIKEVILLE - Eady Beth Connally, a catcher from Sonoraville High School in Calhoun, Ga., signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Pikeville during a ceremony held recently.

Unniversity of Pikeville head coach Robert Staggs

Staggs is in his 16th year as a coach at the University of Pikeville. In his time at the school he has been athletics director and head volleyball coach in addition to serving as an assistant coach for football, baseball and men’s and women’s basketball.

He is currently the head softball coach and associate athletics director.

Connally will join a University of Pikeville softball program that competes in the Mid-South Conference. UPIKE ended the 2012 season 17-34, falling to Campbellsville in the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Danville.
