Caulene “Polly” Martin, age 84 of Garrett, widow of the late Roy S. Martin, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Jellico, Tenn., the daughter of the late Earl and Irene Cummins Buckner. She was a former U.S. Census Bureau employee and a member of the Garrett First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a son, Johnny Martin, of Edmond, Okla.; two daughters, JoAnne (Ron) Roberts, of Milford, Ohio, and Peggi (Randall Bob) Jordan, of Salyersville; three sisters, Mary Conley, of Norfolk, Va., Nora Jean Cuntz, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rose Ella Buckner, of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Greg Roberts, Roy John Martin, Colleen Acerra, Jennifer Hall, and Jason Jordan; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Earl Buckner Jr., Hank Buckner, Gilbert Buckner, Jim Buckner, Rusty Buckner, Carl Smith, Earl Smith and John Smith Jr.
Funeral services for Caulene “Polly” Martin were held Sunday, Sept. 30, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Randy Osborne officiating. Burial followed in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
