PIKEVILLE – The latest signee for the University of Pikeville women’s bowling team is a talented player from Michigan.
Stephenie Lance is a freshman from Alma, Mich., who bowled for her high school team for four seasons and was team captain as both a junior and senior.
Lance carries an average of 175 with a high game of 255.
When away from the lanes, Lance enjoys horseback riding and plans to go into government animal research.
“I know being away from home will be difficult but bowling for University of Pikeville is an honor,” she said. “I know this is where I am meant to be.”
Pikeville is a two-time USBC national champion and won the 2012 NAIA Invitational Tournament in April for its third national title.
The Bears will begin their season in the Green River Classic this weekend.
