Little closing in on 1,000 yards rushing

HI HAT - South Floyd senior Weston Little could go over 1,000 yards rushing as early as this week’s game versus visiting Morgan County. Little has rushed for 816 yards and 15 touchdowns on 76 carries in only three games for the Raiders.

The productive Little has scored 98 of South Floyd’s 132 points.

Blake Dye has aided the South Floyd offense, rushing 55 times for 314 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, Little has recorded an interception, recovered a fumble and registered five tackles for the Raiders.

Little entered the season as one of the top players in Class A, District 8. Now, he’s pushing for a spot among the state’s best players.

Defensively, Mack Little leads South Floyd with 26 tackles. Dye has 22 tackles and Jimmy Helton 20 for the Raiders.

South Floyd improved to 2-1 last week after posting an impressive 54-30 win over Knott County Central. The Raiders have posted back-to-back wins.

South Floyd is set to host undefeated Morgan County. Kickoff for Friday night’s game is set for 7:30 p.m.

In three games, Morgan County (3-0) has rushed for 1,083 yards. Kody Thornsberry currently leads Morgan County in rushing. Thorsnberry has rushed 52 times for 447 yards and five touchdowns.

Walker Crase and Jordan Whitt have each rushed for over 200 yards for the Morgan County offense.

In other local games Friday night, Prestonsburg (2-2) will host Pike County Central while Allen Central (0-3) visits Paintsville (0-3) and Betsy Layne (2-1) ventures to Knott County Central (0-3).
