Rex Raymond Ross, 80, of East Point, husband of Ida Thornsbury Ross, died Sept. 4, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.

Born June 4, 1932, to the late Clay Wade Ross and Laura Hunt Ross Akers, he was a welder for General Motors in Michigan.

He is survived by three daughters, Renee Keathley and Susan Ross, both

of Betsy Layne, and Cheryl Brown, of Prestonsburg; four grandchildren, Angie (Dennis) Watson, Jordan Scott Gilliam, Michael Brooke Gilliam and Jimmy (Regina) Brown; and four great grandchildren, Mackenzie Paige, Camron, Ethan, Kaylee and Kaitlyn

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Dave Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Gardens, in Prestonsburg.

Visitation will be all day Thursday, Sept. 6, at the funeral home.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, is in charge of arrangements.
