PIKEVILLE - The Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team had a three-game winning streak halted Tuesday evening as host Pikeville pulled away to win 8-1-0.
With the win, Pikeville improved to 6-3-0. The Lady Panthers won for the third time in four outings.
Prestonsburg slipped to 5-3 after suffering the loss.
Jackie Kidd scored Prestonsburg’s lone goal. Katie Porter provided the assist on Kidd’s goal.
Pikeville held Prestonsburg to a season-low two goals.
Prestonsburg was hosting Lawrence County at press time Thursday evening. The Prestonsburg-Lawrence County contest ended too late to make this edition.

Boys’ Soccer: Pikeville 8, Prestonsburg 0: In the boys’ soccer game, played as part of a doubleheader, Pikeville blanked Prestonsburg 8-0.
With the win, Pikeville improved to 4-1-1.
Prestonsburg dropped to 2-5-0 after sustaining the loss.
