Ess Ell Reed, 85, of Martin, widower of Corine Smith Reed, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.
Born Oct. 25, 1926, at Tram, to the late Andy and Thursa Davis Reed, he was a retired groundskeeper for Floyd County Board of Education, a U.S. veteran and a member of Faith Bible Church, in Martin.
He is survived by a daughter, Jane Reed, of Morehead; a brother, Clifford Reed, of Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters, Virginia Hopkins, of Prestonsburg, and Patty Hopkins, of Grayson; two grandchildren, Amie Owens and Paige Planck, both of Morehead; and two great grandchildren, Madison Owens and Colton Owens, both of Morehead.
Funeral services for Ess Ell Reed will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Bobby Wireman officiating. Burial will follow in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
