Arvenia Reed, 72, of Dwale, died Aug. 29, 2012 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1939 to the late Willie and Tessie Stewart Reed.
Arvenia was a retied school teacher in Dayton, Ohio, and a member of the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Estill “Butch” Reed, and three sisters, Pauline Castro, Lamonia Wiley and Dorthy Bryant
She is survived by four special nieces, Paula (Tom) Chandler, of Dwale, Olivia (Roger) Stambaugh, of Prestonsburg, Cristia (Randy) Payne, of Versailles, and Amelia (Gary) Brandes, of Naperville, Ill.; niece and nephews, Marissa Johnson, of Prestonsburg, Estill (Trelvia) Reed, of Betsy Layne, Joel (Linda) Reed, of Akron, Ohio, and Joe Castro, of Houston, Texas; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, Sept. 2, at Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church, with Tracy Patton officiating. Burial followed in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
