LOUISA - Prestonsburg senior Austin Sloan won the Bulldog Invitational at Eagle Ridge Golf Course on Saturday, shooting a 4 over par 75. Eagle Ridge is ranked as the sixth-best course in the state. Sloan also set a new record for the invitational beating the lowest round 79 by four shots.The Lawrence County boys’ golf team hosted the 2nd Annual Bulldog Invitational at Eagle Ridge. Teams from West Virginia and Kentucky participated. Host Lawrence County won the tournament. Spring Valley, W.Va. finished second and Prestonsburg exited the tournament in the third-place position.
Lawrence County received a boost from Haven Puryear, who fired a season-low round of 85. Top Sheldon Clark golfer Roger Maynard shot an 83 and finished second. Puryear turned in an 85 to finish third.
