STONECREST - The Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team posted its second straight win on Thursday evening, edging visiting Letcher County Central 3-2 at StoneCrest.
For the second straight outing, Prestonsburg notched a one-goal victory over an opponent.
And for the second consecutive game, Katie Porter led the Lady Blackcats in scoring.
After scoring all four of her team’s goals in a win over Johnson Central, Porter went back to work. This time, Porter netted two goals for the Lady Blackcats.
Jackie Kidd also contributed for Prestonsburg, scoring a goal of her own.
Porter notched an assist on Kidd’s goal.
Defensively, Prestonsburg goalkeeper Autumn Hall limited Letcher County Central to two goals.
Prestonsburg moved to 2-1 following the victory over Letcher Central.
After defeating Belfry in a season-opener, Letcher Central slipped to 1-1.
The Lady Blackcats have defeated back-to-back opponents after falling to Pikeville in a season-opener.
Prestonsburg was visiting Menifee County on Thursday evening. Results from the Prestonsburg-Menifee County game were unavailable at press time.
