ALLEN – Citizens National Bank was the target of a robber Monday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police receive a report of the robbery at 1:41 p.m. According to information obtained at the scene, a man entered the bank, brandishing a knife and demanding money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, he then fled on foot.

The male is described as approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a white thermal shirt, blue jeans, gloves and a black hood covering his face and head.

No one was injured during the incident.

Early Monday evening, detectives combed the streets of New Allen, interviewing potential witnesses.

The bank remained closed following the robbery, and bank employees would not speak to reporters.

Nearby residents to whom The Times spoke were unable to provide any details.

The incident remains under investigation by KSP Det. Tony Tackett. Police ask anyone with information to contact Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville at (606) 433-7711 or (800) 222-5555.
