Raymond Lawson, 81, of Honaker, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence. He was born Dec. 26, 1930, to the late Willie and Hulda Hall Lawson. He was married to Sylvia Parsons Lawson, and was a disabled coal miner.

Raymond Lawson, 81, of Honaker, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 26, 1930, to the late Willie and Hulda Hall Lawson. He was married to Sylvia Parsons Lawson, and was a disabled coal miner.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Alice Elliot Lawson; a brother, Eugene Lawson; a sister, Marie Burges; and a deceased step-daughter, Rhonda Faye Spurlock.

He is survived by his children, Tony Randall Lawson, of Hi Hat, Calvin Ryan Lawson, of Honaker, Ramona Sue (Jeffrey) Robinson, of Elkhorn City, Anita Lynn (Rex) Sparks, of Folkstone, Ga., and Helen Ruth Lawson, of Pikeville; brothers and sisters, General Lawson, William Ray Lawson, Kellard Lawson, Phyllis Mullins and Melvin Lawson; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three step-grandchilden

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 20, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Frank J. Kidd and Bobby McKinney officiating. Burial followed the service at Harold Cemetery.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
