A new director of District Wide Services was appointed this week in Floyd County Schools.

Superintendent Henry Webb issued a statement Wednesday announcing that Tonya Goodman had been selected as Director of District Wide Services.

“Ms. Goodman has been the principal at Duff Elementary for three years and her leadership has been instrumental in their dramatic increase in attendance as well as maintaining good test scores,” said Superintendent Webb.

Webb says that Goodman’s primary duties will be to oversee Floyd County’s alternative program, the Renaissance Learning Center, as well as the counties newest program, the Floyd County Early College Academy (FCECA).

Tonya Goodman previously worked as principal of Duff Elementary, is beginning her 23rd year in education. Goodman has served as a teacher, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal and has worked with all grade levels.

“The board team and I welcome Ms. Goodman to our team in her new role and expect her leadership and knowledge to help the kids of Floyd County Schools.”
