PIKEVILLE – University of Pikeville Men’s Basketball Coach Kelly Wells has added yet another impact player to his 2012 recruiting class.
Brandon Greene, a 6-6 forward from Baltimore, Md., has inked with the Bears and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Greene, who played two seasons of competition at Cecil (Md.) College, was originally a Texas Southern University signee.
While at Cecil, Greene posted averages of 12.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 50 percent from the field. Greene helped lead the 2010-2011 Seahawks to a 26-5 record and a No. 6 NJCAA Div. 2 national ranking.
“Brandon brings a lot of toughness to the court,” said Wells. “He really runs the floor well, and fights for every rebound and loose ball. Brandon’s a team-first player who is always willing to do whatever it takes to help us get a win. Coming from Cecil, he is used to winning and we are excited for him to bring that winning attitude to UPIKE.”
As a prep, Greene attended Towson Catholic High School in Baltimore, Md. As a senior, Greene averaged 13 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks per game and was selected as a member of the Baltimore Sun First-Team All-Metro team. He helped lead Towson Catholic to their second straight MIAA A Conference championship.
