Charles Johnson, 71, of Eastern, husband of Peggy Ousley Johnson, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Saint Joseph Hospital, in Martin.
Born May 15, 1941, in Floyd County, to the late Jim Johnson and Pearlie Slone Johnson, he was a disabled coal miner and a believer in the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Edward Johnson, of Eastern; three daughters, Charlotte (Phillip) Allen, of Eastern, Tammy Bragg, of McDowell, and Chrissy Jacob, of Eastern; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Will Johnson, Allen Johnson, Emmitt Jr. Johnson, Beatrice Dubler; Daisy Clemons, Virginia McCkissett and Marie Arnett.
In addition to his parents, he was precended in death by a daughter, Teresa Ann Johnson; four brothers, Chumb Johnson, Eli Johnson, Henry Johnson and James Johnson; and two sisters, Liza Ousley and Rebecca Ann Brown.
Funeral services for Charles Johnson will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Jerry Manns officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery, at Cloverfield Branch, Caney.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 11 p.m., Monday, and all day Tuesday, at the funeral home.
