Johnnie Donald Guess, 78, of Prestonsburg, husband of Charlotte George Guess, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Prestonsburg Health Care.

Born Sept. 30, 1933, in Logan, Ohio, to the late Edward Guess and Rachel Chandler Guess, he was a retired mechanic and a veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, James Robert Guess, of prestonsburg, Charley Edward Guess, of Owensville, and William David Guess, of Prestonsburg; daughters, Carol Mae Williams, of Arizona, and Cheryl Marie Guess, of Prestonsburg; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Guess, David Sturgill and William Patton; sisters, Alice Wilson, Bertha Fisher, Maude Daubeumire and Beatrice Guess; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Johnnie Donald Guess will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 3, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Ron Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Guess Cemetery, at Flat Gap.
