Belvia M. Howell, age 89 of Prestonsburg, widow of the late Davie Howell Jr., passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.

Belvia M. Howell, age 89 of Prestonsburg, widow of the late Davie Howell Jr., passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.

She was born Oct. 17, 1922, at Bonanza, the daughter of the late George Akers and Mary Carter Hughes. She was a homemaker and a believer of the Freewill Baptist Faith.

Belvia is survived by five sons, Hershel Akers, of Prestonsburg, Johnie Music, of Stockbridge, Mich., George Akers, of Wabash, Ind., Amos Music, of Salyersville, and David Gene Music, of Ypsilanti, Mich.; three daughters, Sandra Taylor, of Wabash, Ind., Carol Jean Akers, of Prestonsburg, and Mary Wireman, of Prestonsburg; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Music; a daughter, Rowena Akers; two brothers, Logan and Charlie Akers; and four sisters, Ethel, Virginia, Irene and Sarah.

Funeral services for Belvia M. Howell were held Monday, July 30, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Jimmy Caudill officiating. Burial followed in the Akers and Music Cemetery, at Bonanza.

Belvia is survived by five sons, Hershel Akers of Prestonsburg, KY, Johnie Music of Stockbridge, MI, George Akers of Wabash, IN, Amos Music of Salyersville, KY, and David Gene Music of Ypsilanti, MI, three daughters, Sandra Taylor of Wabash, IN, Carol Jean Akers of Prestonsburg, KY, and Mary Wireman of Prestonsburg, KY, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Belvia M. Howell will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Jimmy Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in the Akers and Music Cemetery, Bonanza, KY. Visitation will be held after 12:00 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
