Dallas Freeman, 88, of Auxier, widower of Marcelline King Freeman, died Saturday, July 27, 2012, at his residence.
Born June 19, 1924, in Floyd County, to the late George and Rose Hall Freeman, he was a retired coal miner and a member of Auxier Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Lillian Smiderle, of Irving, Texas, and Rosella Freeman, Elizabeth Greer and Teresa J. Moore, all of Lexington; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George C. Freeman; a brother, Hazie Freeman; and a sister, Judy Layne.
Funeral services for Dallas Freeman will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Bobby Joe Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery, in Prestonsburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
