MOREHEAD - Former Morehead State University football player Desmond Cox has been added to the United States roster for the first-ever Euro-American International Scout Bowl. The contest will be played on Sept. 1 at the newly-constructed National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland.

The Euro-American Challenge features American players who are interested in signing a European contract against European players who are willing to play in America. The United States squad will begin practice on Aug. 27 at the St. Lawrence Sports Complex in Hillburn, N.Y.

Cox picked up several postseason honors after his senior campaign in 2011. He was a Second-Team All-Pioneer Football League selection for both academic and athletic achievement.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Cox tallied 956 rushing yards a year ago en route to 1,783 for his career.

He was named the PFL’s Offensive Player of the Week after collecting a career-high 218 yards on the ground, including a school-record 92-yard touchdown burst, in the season finale against Butler.
