Arlene Johnson Howell, 58, of Melvin, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at her residence.
She was born March 18, 1954, to the late Hatler and Edna Stanley Johnson. She was the wife of the late Harvey Lee Howell. Arlene was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Johnson, and six sisters, Myrtle Tackett, Florence “Henke” Henderson, Molly Bryant, Ethel Johnson, Phyllis Newsome and Reba Johnson.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer “Jenny” (Brent) Tackett, of Melvin; and brothers and sisters, Johnny Johnson, of Southgate, Mich., Conely Johnson, of Weeksbury, Ronnie Johnson, of Corbin, Lonnie Johnson, of Wheelwright, and T.R. Hamilton, of Melvin.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 16, at Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, at Melvin. Burial followed the service at Johnson Cemetery, at Melvin.
Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
