Nita Sue Williams Hale, 70, of Betsy Layne, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at her residence.

She was born April 24, 1942, to the late Chandler and Bertie Adams Williams. She was the wife of the late Woodrow Hale. She was a retired federal employee of the Social Security Administration and a member of the Church of Christ in Prestonsburg.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Akers.

She is survived by a son, Brent (Sandra) Hale, of Pendleton; two brothers, Willis Williams, of Richmond, Mich., and Wendel Williams, of West Liberty; a sister, Betty Lou Hunley, of Salyersville; five grandchildren, Ashley Marilla, Alicia Berdett, Jill Akers, Tyler Branham and Alex Branham; and four great grandchildren, Caramie, Alonna, Emma and Braxton.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 16, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, with Rick Kelley officiating. Burial followed the service at Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
