One new film and a few oldies made for good bets for your rental dollar this week.

“American Reunion” — The cast of “American Pie” returns for this send up of high school reunions, as well as many gags about the next generation being as challenged as these folks were in 1999. The film finds the whole gang getting together for a reunion which finds Lenevstein (Jason Biggs) still embarrassed by the antics of his widowed dad (Eugene Levy, who even appeared in those dreadful direct-to-video sequels). The good news is that this is hilarious and raunchy.

“Twins of Evil” — Hammer Horror from the 1970s doesn’t get much better than this effort. This is one of the few vampire pictures they made without Christopher Lee, but his absence is mitigated by the appearance of Peter Cushing as a rabid vampire hunter and puritan. He also has twin daughters (Playboy Magazine’s Collinson twins), who fall prey to a bloodsucker. Not the best fang-fest from Hammer, but the Collinsons are easy enough on the eyes to smooth the flick over some rough spots.

“Cherry Bomb” — This low-budget action flick plays like an update of “Ms. 45.” Here you get a stripper who decides to take justice into her own hands when a gang of toughs assault her. She enlists the aid of her brother, but things soon get complicated when a hit man is thrown into the mix. Good trashy fun ensues.

“Warehouse 13: Season 3” — The Government’s underfunded hideaway for supernatural phenomena racks up plenty of action and laughs in this latest season. The show gets a boost from cool guest starts with deep science fiction TV roots, such as Jeri (“Star Trek: Enterprise”) Ryan, Lindsay (“The Bionic Woman”) Wagner, and Anthony Michael (“Dead Zone”) Hall.

Next week brings lots of yuks, with the release of the new edition of “The Three Stooges.”
