Donald L. Howard, 75 years of age, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.

Born Feb. 18, 1937, in Prestonsburg, he was the son of the late Harvey Howard and Neil Burchett Howard.

He was a former barber and later served as a drug and alcohol counselor with Mountain Comprehensvie Care Center. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Prestonsburg.

Survivors include his wife, Lyda Margaret Spradlin Howard; two daughters, Vick Howard Elliott, of Prestonsburg, and Karen L. Vaughan, of East Point; a brother, Bill Harvey Howard, of Prestonsburg; four grandchildren, Kalen H. Harris, Rachael Vaughan, Jody Harris and Danielle Harris; and a great grandchild, Lynlee Hager.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 12, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Clark DeSarro Raynal officiating. Burial will be in the Mayo Cemetery, in Prestonsburg.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
