James Luther Roberts, 77, of Hi Hat, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born March 12, 1935, to the late Ranel and Elizabeth Conn Roberts. He was the husband of Patricia Ann Roberts and the late Joanne Huffman Roberts. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Joe and Lola Roberts, and one sister, Bonnie Sue and Harry Brookover.

He is survived by his children, Jimmy Jr. Roberts, Billy (Amy) Roberts, Vicky Parker, Sherry (Luke) May and Tracy Roberts, all of Frankfort, Randy (Cheryl) Roberts, of Bradenton, Fla., Ansel Hall, of Harold, and Angie Hall, of Pike County; brothers, Wendell (Peggy) Roberts, Ralph (Sara) Roberts and Larry Roberts, all of Huntington, W.Va., Garry Roberts, of Harold, and Ed (Tammie) Roberts and Charles (Virgie) Roberts, of Tenn.; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 5, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home. Burial followed the service at Frankfort Cemetery, in Frankfort.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
