Irvin Shepherd Jr., 58, of David, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

He was born August 5, 1953, to the late Irvin and Betty Jo Garrett Shepherd. He worked as a coal truck driver.

He was preceded in death by one son, Chad Irvin Shepherd, and two brothers, Denver Lee Shepherd and Arthur Lee Shepherd.

He is survived by four daughters, Jill Renee Sparks and Tara Kaye Mast, both of Indiana, Christy King, of Stanton, and Heather Porter, of Prestonsburg; two sisters, Sybel Lois Shepherd, of Martin, and Linda Campbell, of Prestonsburg; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 12, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, with Ellis Stephens officiating. Burial will follow the service at Shepherd Family Cemetery, at David.
