Alberta M. Hamilton, 80 of Hi Hat, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 13, 1932, to the late Hillard and Dacie Hall Mitchell. She was the wife of the late elder Hershell Hamilton. She was the owner of Hamilton’s Auto Parts Store and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Dan Hamilton and Douglas Hamilton; four brothers, Charles Mitchell, Smitty Mitchell, Roy Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell.

She is survived by a son, Eddie (Judy) Hamilton, of Hi Hat; two daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Howell, of Hi Hat, and Janet (Chad) Vance, of Hi Hat; daughter-in-law, Trudy Hamilton; four brothers, Forrest Mitchell, of Somerset, Jack Mitchell, of Prestonsburg, James Mitchell, of Columbus, Ohio, and Philman Mitchell, of Hi Hat; a sister, Ida Mitchell, of Dearborn, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Denise (Johnny), Valerie (Brandon), Jessica, Kyle, Krista, Whitney and Tammy; great grandchildren, Joselyn, Jonna, Carter, Paisley, Kaiden, Kerry and Brita; and one great great grandchild, McKenna.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday June 29, at Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church, at Hi Hat. Burial will follow the service at Vance-Hamilton Cemetery, at Hi Hat.
